My name is Ted Januse, and currently I am a Special Day Class (SDC) teacher in California. I am, indeed, the family man. My wife and I have two beautiful children, a 6-year-old daughter and a 4-year-old son. I love my children very much, and they are the reason that I continuously strive to be the best I can and be a good role model for them. In my spare time I enjoy playing with my kids and spending time with my wife.    I come from a family with special needs: my brother has Cerebral Palsy, my oldest sister was born with only one kidney, my youngest sister was born with major lungs issues, and then there is me--I have epilepsy. Although we all have disabilities, it was never a reason to settle for second best. Actually, this was why I chose a career in education. I want to help all students achieve their highest potential regardless of their disabilities.

Currently, I teach four core subjects: science, language arts, math, and U.S. history to students with special needs. As far as my academic background, I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in interdisciplinary studies with a minor in cultural studies. Additionally, I have a Master of Science in education with a major in special education. Furthermore, I maintain a professional clear, multiple-subject credential with a cross-cultural, language, and academic development emphasis as well as an educational specialist teaching credential. Additionally, I also hold my Level II Special Education credential.  Last but not least, I am 1 of 2 teachers, in the area I work in, that possess a certificate in autism for the state of California.   I believe that my background, both academically and personally, enables me to teach all types of learners.

I am looking forward to working with everyone throughout our class!
